(Please note that this track does not necessarily refer to this release, but rather the one that it was originally going to be on.) First rock was dead and from the disintegrated ashes came the birth of punk. Then punk was dead and from those disintegrated ashes came the birth of noise. Now noise is dead and it is musically impossible to flip off a bigger middle finger. This wannabe '80s cassette tape does not intend to spark the ashes of noise and birth a new genre. This is not post-Japanoise. This is not neo-Japanoise. This is simply American Japanoise.

about

According to the internets, one of the the best ways to make a harsh noise wall is with Ableton, and I, being the self-acclaimed harsh noise wannabe on a budget that I am, decided to give it a try. They are harsh, yes, but they're made with a computer so I guess it's not "pure" harsh noise wall. I was really pleased with how the last track came out, but that part doesn't start until 50 seconds in. That's probably why it's so long; I didn't know when to end it! I've said that I've always wanted to make a sequel to the Merzbitch "single", but this would've made for a better April Fools' Day joke, if I was planning on releasing something on April Fools' Day, so here's this a week after.

The artist name "Hakaibaka" is Japanese for "destruction fool", a reference to the infamously irresponsible concerts of Japanoise band Hanatarash. The album cover art was taken from a picture involving the explosions in Tianjin, China in 2015. Fuck Bandcamp for increasing their album cover art resolution requirement from 700 x 700 to 1400 x 1400.

In order to pretend that this is a vinyl release, remove track 5. Then tracks 1-3 can be side A, track 4 can be side B, and track 6 can be side C. But then you're left with a 3-sided record, in the same way that the Merzbitch "single" is more like a 3-sided single than an EP. Still doesn't make it an official sequel though, not like how Com Radish is the official sequel to the ATP EP, or like how SBLE is the official sequel to Eluxocutioner. But listen to this and Merzbitch instead of SBLE and Eluxocutioner cause these are better.

Track 1 was recorded on March 11, 2016 using a megaphone and an additive synthese waveform generator. All remaining tracks were recorded on April 8, 2016 using Ableton.
